2003-10-19 at 2:23 p.m. - We are all crying freedom

Jason Upton is quite the worship guy. God has blessed him with an amazing talent for writing in general. I felt a little odd at first because it was immensely crowded in the front and I didn't know anyone I was around. So, I was well out of my comfort area. He played this song called "Freedom" that we have done during worship at youth, and for some reason, I was just clinging to that last night. That has sort of been what I have meditated on the last few weeks. Freedom. I need some spiritual release and just freedom to be crazy during worship and just to be entirely a sell out for Jesus. My heart is screaming at me to just take a dive and a giant leap of faith and to just release myself of the things that are burdening me. But my ownself is so self-concious. But it's funny, they started playing that song "Freedom" and I just latched onto the words and the meaning and that is what I want. Not just for myself, but for the people around me and the people in foreign lands who don't have that. Freedom. Freedom to let the Spirit move and just release us from the legalism, from the bonds, and from the governments who don't want Jesus, from everything that ever hindered someone.

Freedom

Back in the Bible there was that old Pharaoh
Who ruled over Egypt and Israel.
God Spoke to Moses through fired up bushes
Said kick off your shoes and stay a while
All of humanity was made to Worship me
Pharaoh get out of my way

(God is saying)Freedom to dance
Freedom to sing
Freedom to grow
I’m telling you Pharaoh let my people go
Worship now, Worship now, worship Your God

We live in a country supposedly pharoahless
But all over town and in churches abide
Powerful weaklings who practice their politics
Stealing from Jesus his beautiful bride
Whether you’re Pharisees, Sadducees, heresies
You best get out of God’s way

If you ever get the chance, check out Jason's music, he has an anointing for worship music and it speaks the truth. It's not entertainment, it's actual worship.
